Who our bookkeeping services help

You may need regular help keeping up with your books, a periodic review of records you already maintain, or a clearer starting point when things have fallen behind. We work with small-business owners and self-employed clients whose bookkeeping needs vary.

  • Ongoing support with transaction categorization and account reconciliation.

  • Quarterly or year-end review of income and expense records.

  • Help assessing cleanup needs or catching up prior periods.

Tell us how you currently track your business activity and which periods need attention. We’ll discuss whether our services fit your situation and define the work for your engagement.

Choose a bookkeeping cadence that fits your business

Monthly bookkeeping

Monthly support provides a regular rhythm for categorizing and reconciling transactions, reviewing records for accuracy and consistency, and basic month-end cleanup and organization. Questions about unclear transactions can be addressed as the records are reviewed.

Quarterly bookkeeping

Quarterly support may suit owners who do not need monthly bookkeeping but want a consistent review schedule. Typical work includes categorizing and reconciling transactions across key accounts, reviewing for consistency, and quarter-end cleanup and organization.

Yearly reconciliation

Yearly reconciliation is designed for owners who have tracked income and expenses during the year and need help reviewing, reconciling and organizing their books before tax preparation. If periods are missing or substantial cleanup is needed, we’ll discuss that work when assessing the scope.

Compare the current fees and included time on our bookkeeping and payroll pricing page. We can discuss the appropriate cadence during your consultation.

What the bookkeeping work may cover

Depending on your engagement, bookkeeping work can include:

  • Categorizing and reconciling transactions.

  • Reviewing records for accuracy and consistency.

  • Basic cleanup and organization for the period being reviewed.

  • Asking clear, practical questions when something needs clarification.

We’ll discuss the accounts, periods and responsibilities relevant to your business. Any reports, additional projects or other deliverables depend on the agreed engagement.

If you also use our payroll services, payroll records can be coordinated with your bookkeeping and tax preparation. Payroll has its own pricing and complexity considerations; review the existing payroll pricing and disclosures when considering that service.

Routine cleanup and more substantial catch-up work

Basic cleanup helps organize the records being reviewed and clarify incomplete or inconsistent entries. Catch-up work may involve prior periods, gaps in documentation or records that need more extensive attention.

Missing documentation, mixed business and personal spending, multiple accounts and unclear transactions can add time. Tell us which periods are behind and what records are available so we can discuss the proposed work, responsibilities and how additional time is charged. Substantial catch-up work is assessed according to the engagement rather than assumed to fit within the standard included time.

Working with our team

The setup process starts with a conversation about your current system and goals. It can include connecting accounts, establishing or refining the chart of accounts as needed, and organizing a practical workflow for the agreed services.

If you already use QuickBooks Online, tell us about your current setup during the consultation. We’ll discuss how it fits the proposed work and confirm the software access, records and division of responsibilities for your engagement.

You can help the process by keeping business and personal spending separate, providing the records we request and answering questions about transactions. Our team takes an educational approach and explains bookkeeping questions in plain language.

If we move forward and need documents, we’ll direct you to the agreed secure sharing process. You do not need to assemble every document before the initial consultation.

Connect your bookkeeping with tax preparation

Organized bookkeeping gives tax preparation a clearer starting point. Records of business income and expenses can help identify what is available and what still needs clarification when preparing a return.

White Sands Tax Services provides bookkeeping and tax preparation. We can discuss how the services work together for your situation, with their scope and fees addressed in your quote. Review our tax preparation pricing if you are considering both.

Transparent, time-based pricing

Our bookkeeping pricing is based on time spent, with included time for the published monthly, quarterly and yearly options. Additional bookkeeping work is billed at the posted hourly rate, and we communicate when extra time is needed. There are no per-transaction fees or transaction-count limits; the time required for your work still affects the fee.

One $300 setup fee covers bookkeeping, payroll, or both together. A client using both services pays one setup fee.

See the current fees, included hours and service disclosures before getting started. That pricing page remains the public fee reference; the specific work and responsibilities are determined according to your engagement.

10% discount for multiple services

We offer a 10% discount when you use White Sands Tax Services for multiple services. This includes combining tax services or adding bookkeeping or payroll services.

We'll explain how the discount applies when discussing your needs and preparing your quote. Bundle discounts cannot be combined with other promotional offers.

Bookkeeping questions

Do my books need to be caught up before I contact you?

No. Tell us what you have, which periods need work and when the accounts were last reconciled. We can discuss whether you need regular support, a review or a separately scoped catch-up project.

What can increase the time required?

Missing documentation, transactions that are hard to categorize, mixed business and personal spending, multiple accounts and extra clarification can increase the work. Additional time follows the pricing and scope discussed for your engagement.

How can I help keep the work efficient?

Keep business and personal records separate where possible, organize supporting documents and respond to questions about your transactions. These steps can reduce avoidable back-and-forth; the time required still depends on your records.

Can I use WSTS for bookkeeping and tax preparation?

Yes. We can discuss the services together and explain how the multiple-services discount applies in your quote. You can also qualify through multiple tax services; two different service categories are not required. Bundle discounts cannot be combined with other promotional offers.

Do I have to visit the Long Beach office?

No. We offer remote service across the U.S. If you prefer to meet in Long Beach, arrange an appointment with our team.

What should I have ready for the free consultation?

A brief description of your business, your current bookkeeping system, the periods you need help with and any deadlines is a useful start. You do not need every document ready before booking.
